In Bucharest and around the capital live over 5000 children who suffer from life-limiting illness. Over 8000 parents care for these ill children, but do not benefit from a proper medical, social or psychological support. In addition, over 10000 children who deal with the death of a family member need support.

To offer them help, HOSPICE started the establishment of a social-medical center at Adunatii Copaceni, near Bucharest, on a property made of a mano house and other five buildings, donated in 2013 by the Florescu family.

The center will include: 6 apartments for the temporary housing of the families with ill children and who have difficulties in finding shelter; a 12 bed in-patient unit for palliative care; a home care team who will provide treatment for patients at their homes; a day center for different therapies and educational ooportunities; a place for holding summer camps; a therapy center for the families.
